Most consistency advice is about audience-building, not selling to the audience you're building.
My ass was handed to me when I faced the ugly truth:
The consistent person I was,
going live every week on IG despite that soul-crushing void where 0 viewers screamed louder than any heckler,
posting content and doing my absolute best not to miss a day,
the person who even invested $999 in an Instagram course was failing.
So many people in the language teaching space seemed to be doing fine:
their videos kept going viral,
they were getting followers left, right, and centre.
So I doubled down on that:
I had posts that got 500,000 views,
and I was fortunate to amass a following of 135,000.
People loved what I shared.
They resonated with everything I posted.
But every time I invited people to join my paid signature programme, which I had proof was life-changing, I could barely convert 1-2 new clients.
Sometimes no-one.

I was dumping value after value on people who'd never buy anyway...
or was sharing value that actively blocked the sale.
Because it’s one thing to swear we won’t sell in our content.
Fair enough.
No-one wants to be sold to.
But committed people? They love buying.
So the question isn’t: “How much selling do you do in your content as an impact-driven entrepreneur?”
It’s: “Are you making it easier… or harder… to buy from you?”
Are you easy to buy from?

The same amount of time spent tending the garden.

But most Invisible Creators miss this entirely.
The blind gap destroying results
I know because I did, too.
The “just share your message authenticity” message backfired because I was so obsessed with what I wanted to say, I forgot a crucial component:
What goes on in the recipient’s head when they read that message.
In my language coach years, every “You just have to speak, don’t worry about mistakes.” landed as “But I can’t speak if I don’t remember all the words.”
Whenever I said “it’s more important to focus on expressing yourself”, the audience’s gremlins were whispering “but I learned in school that grammar is the most important part”.
The content that was supposed to help ended up in a Saved folder.
And the same people who kept saving my posts still didn’t get the promotion they wanted, still felt terrified of giving a presentation, and were engulfed in doubt every time they didn’t know a word.
People’s brains make over 35,000 decisions a day.
I know, now it kind of makes sense why we all feel so exhausted all the time, right?
And more than 95% of these decisions are subconscious:
repeatedly choosing what we feel safe with, paying attention to what our current attention is on, continuing thinking patterns about certain situations.
I had to realise that no-one is going to change their results if I just tell them “Just keep speaking.”.
The same way someone can post a “You don’t need to worry about being behind post.” that gets 50 likes, it may even go viral.
But the same people who engaged?
They still wake up every day feeling behind.
Because most creators never challenge the old wiring in the first place.
And if their potential buyers don’t become aware that there’s a pattern running the show, you can tell them as many times as you want what you believe to be the solution,
spend the next 6 months consistently posting while asking yourself why no-one’s reaching out, or enquiring about your services, still doubting if you even attracted clients to your audience,
because how you presented the content doesn’t prompt them to take action and get results.
I had to be the one who, instead of encouraging people to do the work, went deeper than anyone else in my industry, and started creating content that said:
”You’re not worried about mistakes, you’re worried about what other people think about you if you make mistakes when you speak. But let’s examine that a little: Would you look down on someone when they make a mistake in your native language if that’s something they’re still learning? Isn’t it more important that they tried? Then why would you feel ashamed of making mistakes in a foreign language you still on the learning path to master?”
BAMMM!
Potential clients reaching out,
more sign-ups to the challenges I held,
and I finally attracted committed, hard-working clients who eventually decided to upgrade, and fill up my mastermind.
Here’s why that content piece was so powerful:
It spoke to exactly what my ideal client, who’s already looking for a solution, was paying attention to.
Because so many of our decisions run subconsciously, our attention is pretty much governed by what we’re attuned to.
Completely ignoring speaking to what your potential client cares about?
A recipe for irrelevance.
Your message simply can’t cut through even those aligned clients’ filters who would be ready to pay you thousands, and commit to the work.
‘Am I being manipulative if I’m speaking this intentionally?’, you may ask.
Does the gardener think they’re inauthentic because they’d rather plant seeds in fertile soil, and not in concrete?
Your job in your content is simply to create the conditions so people who actually want the results can move towards investing in your services.
If those signals aren’t there, despite all the hours you put into content creation, your people may scroll past. Those seeds will still land on concrete and never germinate.
Your content can either be a great dopamine hit for someone who feels seen, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
But it doesn’t drive either business revenue or real impact.
Or your content can be the catalyst for the right people to take the next step, and whether that’s to book a clarity call with you, buy your secret podcast, or download your freebie, which is ultimately what my students learn inside Impact to drive sales.
Why build a swamp where your people sink deeper into “someday” when you could build a river that steadily moves the top 3% towards deciding, “This is my next step”?
Aligned Entrepreneurs don’t sell the offer.
They created the conditions so buying the offer feels safe, simple and aligned with what the client already wants.
The converting post about mistakes was brilliant because:
it spoke to the identity my buyer aspires to be (someone who doesn’t worry about what they can’t control)
it lead with the values they want to step into more: showing up over perfectionism,
and it made them see how their current belief was flawed, and invited them to think differently.
What do identity, values and belief have in common?
They’re all rooted in our subconscious.
The part of us that makes decisions, including purchasing your offer.
Because when someone’s battling their own demons, and are already actively looking for a solution, what will help them more?
The next reminder, inspiring story, authentic share that emotionally resonates?
Or the same but layered with subconscious signals that rewire those decades-old beliefs, and help the very people you’re here to help commit to the transformation they already want?
The goal of an impact-driven entrepreneur isn’t to sell.
It’s not to make buying from them any less scary, painful, and risky than it already feels for the soul client who:
may have burned $5k+ on "expert" programs that failed to get them results, leaving them more cynical and suspicious,
are still tormented by their limiting beliefs about their ability, their readiness, or your process (e.g. people don’t do hypnosis because of all the stories around how manipulative it is, etc.)
currently thinks about investing in another solution that you know won’t work for them (but haven’t communicated it yet).
Without decision-triggers you don’t just make them stay addicted to consuming more of your content,
you’re keeping your doors slammed shut to someone who may already want to whip out their credit card and pay you for your services.
